Talking Farm Toys


untitledCome to the Starkville Farm Toy Show at the National Guard Armory on Hwy. 12 in Starkville this weekend, then join Mitch Sisson and Pepper Sisson at JOY Club.

The Sissons will discuss their history with toy tractors and share their projects and collections at this month’s JOY Club potluck luncheon, set for 11:30 a.m. Feb. 28 at the First Baptist Church fellowship hall. “I have really gotten to know some characters, and some mighty fine people playing with these toys,” said Mitch Sisson. “I have made some really good friends though the hobby.  One old man told me ‘Toy tractors collect the nicest people.’  Well, they do…and those nice people have put up with the Sisson Brothers for nearly 20 years!”

The Starkville Farm Toy Show is open to anyone with any type of farm related toys —tractors, trucks, implements, animals, buildings, logging equipment—that would like to come set their stuff up to sell, trade, or just display. Sisson said there will be a few tables set up with display only pieces. Then, there will be vendors set up selling new farm toys, used farm toys, broken farm toys. Continue reading
