Joyce Yates to speak at Starkville’s Observance of the National Day of Prayer May 7

Health educator and author Joyce Yates will serve as one of eight guest speakers at Starkville’s Observance of The National Day of Prayer, set for noon May 7 at the Starkville Sportsplex.

Yates will speak on the importance of prayer in healthcare. The Starkville  observance will coincide with events throughout the nation, with people coming together for a time to pray for their community, their state and their nation.

Starkville’s observance of the National Day of Prayer is set for noon May 7 at the Starkville Sportsplex. The public is invited to attend.

As part of this year’s event, community leaders will share their personal testimony of the importance of prayer in eight key areas of every community, including government, military, business, media, family, church, education and healthcare. Continue reading

EMCC’s Miller to serve as one of the speakers for Starkville’s NDOP event May 7


miller1Dr. Paul Miller, vice-president of East Mississippi Community College — Mayhew campus, will be one of eight guest speakers participating in Starkville’s Observance of the National Day of Prayer.

The Starkville event will be at noon May 7 at the Starkville Sportsplex.  Dr. Miller will speak about the importance of prayer as it relates to education. He will lead the group in a prayer for students, educators, and the state of education on a local, state and national level as part of this year’s event.
