WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THE CHURCHES YOUR ARE SERVING? What I like about these churches is their willingness to try new things, their willingness to minister and be a witness, and their willingness to come together in various ways such as a monthly fellowship meal and bible study.

It is a time to remember and reflect. It is celebrated all over the world, and today, people will remember the passion and the purpose of Jesus Christ as they participate in a variety of services for Ash WednesEVGW_DayofDust_1day.

Rev. Trey Harper, pastor of Forrest First United Methodist Church in Forest, Miss. said, the Season of Lent is the time in which the church “slows down to prepare our hearts for the Passion of Christ and the Glories of Resurrection Sunday.” Harper said in Western Christianity, Ash Wednesday marks the first day, or the start of, the season of Lent, which begins 40 days prior to Easter, not including Sundays, because every Sunday is to be treated as a Celebration of the Resurrected Christ.
