Squarefest celebrates small-town living

promo2-1Laura Edwards, president of the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce, said the annual Squarefest draws people from in and out of the city, county, and the state together to celebrate what small town living is all about!

“Squarefest is chance to visit, make new friends, find some unique items, and hear some good music,” Edwards said. “This year we are looking forward to all the vendors coming back and of course all the good food! There’s always such a ‘homecoming’ feel to our festival. Three class years are getting together for a joint reunion that same weekend so it’ll be an extra flurry of familiar faces around town!”

The 45th Annual Calhoun City SquareFest (formerly known as the Calhoun City Arts & Crafts Festival) starts at 5 p.m. May 29 with free concerts featuring Lyrix at 6 p.m. and Red Roots at 7 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs. Continue reading

WLSM under new ownership

After 20 years of being “the voice” of WLSM FM, Phil and Stacy Harrison know a little about that. The Harrison’s have now officially sold the station and retired to Oxford to follow the Ole Miss Rebels.
