What better way to share the love of Christ with children in our community than to share a sweet treat on Valentine’s Day! I could use a little help…Pepper and I would like to put together about 100 Valentine’s Day “happies” for the LOVE BAG project. The children who receive LOVE BAGS are needy students in Webster County Schools (K-12 in both Eupora and East Webster Schools). These children struggle with many of the necessities we often take for granted, even food over the weekend.
We are hoping to collect Valentine Candy, juice boxes, Valentine cookies, maybe a small Valentine toy, etc. for a special “happy” for 100 children. If you can donate a bag of candy, Bibles, salvation tracts, a box of juice boxes or cookies (or anything else the children could use), please drop them by First Baptist Church of Eupora’s church office (from 8 a.m.-noon or 1-4:30 p.m.) before Feb. 12 (THIS SUNDAY)! We would greatly appreciate it!
I know this is last-minute, but I am hoping we can collect as many backpacks as possible before Webster County students return to school on Aug. 11. The sweet girls who coordinate the LOVE BAGS project for the school system said backpacks were the biggest need they have right now. And they can ALWAYS use bottled water, pre-packaged snacks and school supplies!
There are 70-100 Webster County students that the program works with to provide assistance with food, clothing personal hygiene items and school supplies, from all East Webster and Eupora Schools at every grade level. The children they work with typically have little to no food over the weekends. This program helps send these children home with bottled water, a few pre-packaged snacks and personal hygiene items that are tucked into a ziploc bag into their backpacks. Clothing and other items are collected and given to students as needed.
Please drop by new or gently used backpacks by the office of First Baptist Church of Eupora. (Yesterday, I saw backpacks at Fred’s in Eupora for $6.) Your donations would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you for all you do!
Special THANKS to all those who helped with the Easter LOVE BAGS for less fortunate children in Webster County Schools! So many not only provided for the Easter “happies” that were distributed today at both East Webster and Eupora Schools, but provided extra supplies of food and personal hygiene items to help students in grades K4-12 get through the Good Friday 3-day weekend. Y’all are AMAZING! And the sweet one learned a new skill — curling ribbon! He was so sweet to help pack bags! Thank you all so much for providing much needed items and Easter “happies” — because everyone NEEDS chocolate on Easter morning!!!
