Celebrate with powerful music that tells the story of Easter

It is Rev. John Herring’s hope that “everyone who comes will worship the Lord and recognize in a fresh way the sacrifice that Jesus made at Calvary.”

“Music is such a powerful tool to share the gospel, because it touches the very depth of our soul and emotions,” Herring said.

Herring is the minister of music and associate pastor at First Baptist Church of Eupora, and director of the 2017 FBC Eupora Easter Cantata. The event is set for 6 p.m. April 9 in the sanctuary of FBC Eupora. Continue reading

Webster-Choctaw County D-NOW set for this weekend

20170110162025_00001Students will be able to tell this year’s Disciple Now (D-NOW) Weekend will be different almost immediately.

Cody Robertson, youth minister at First Baptist Church of Eupora, said FBC Eupora will be partnered with multiple churches and will not hold services in Eupora. D-NOW will be Feb. 10-12.

“We plan to spend Saturday afternoon involved with mission work, intentionally reaching out to areas of poverty in Choctaw and Webster County,” Robertson said. “With a large number of churches involved, we can expect everything to be done on a larger scale. Worship service, recreation, even eating will all be done with every church that is involved.”

Valentine Love Bags

thWhat better way to share the love of Christ with children in our community than to share a sweet treat on Valentine’s Day! I could use a little help…Pepper and I would like to put together about 100 Valentine’s Day “happies” for the LOVE BAG project. The children who receive LOVE BAGS are needy students in Webster County Schools (K-12 in both Eupora and East Webster Schools). These children struggle with many of the necessities we often take for granted, even food over the weekend.

We are hoping to collect Valentine Candy, juice boxes, Valentine cookies, maybe a small Valentine toy, etc. for a special “happy” for 100 children. If you can donate a bag of candy, Bibles, salvation tracts, a box of juice boxes or cookies (or anything else the children could use), please drop them by First Baptist Church of Eupora’s church office (from 8 a.m.-noon or 1-4:30 p.m.) before Feb. 12 (THIS SUNDAY)! We would greatly appreciate it!

Duncan to discuss the art students at EXPRESS Yourself at the JOY Club potluck

3936315_origJudy Gibson Duncan loves her job–“Everything we do at the T.K. Martin Center makes someone’s life better.”

“The purpose of every service is to make individuals, both children and adults, more functional in their lives and assist them in gaining more independence,” Duncan said. “There is nothing more rewarding than to serve those in need and see them gain independence.”

Duncan will return to her home church and will share her passion for her work at the upcoming JOY Club potluck luncheon, set for 11:30 a.m. Jan. 31 at First Baptist Church of Eupora’s fellowship hall. Bring a dish and learn more about Duncan’s work as a case manager for Assistive Technology and “tracker” for the EXPRESS Yourself art program at the T.K. Martin Center on the Mississippi State University campus. Continue reading

img_80361Jaimie Hernandez of First Baptist Church of Eupora said PASSION 2017 Conference has changed his life forever.

“ It made me see, with not just my eyes but my heart as well, and has changed my life for the better,” Hernandez said. “One of my favorite things that happened at the event was when I saw hundreds maybe even thousands of people stand up to accept Christ into their lives and my heart was just filled with Joy!”

Hernandez was one of 10 students from First Baptist Church of Eupora to travel to Atlanta, Ga. last week to take part in the 2017 PASSION Conference held at the Georgia Dome.
