Volunteers at the Webster County Baptist Association’s Food Pantry assisted in the Winston County tornado relief effort by delivering 1,500 pounds of food and supplies donated by local churches.
K.A. Perego, Food Pantry Volunteer Director, said following the April 28 tornado that hit Winston County and areas throughout the state, several local churches immediately began collecting supplies. Knowing first-hand the importance of providing food to people in need, food pantry volunteers offered to serve as a distribution point for food and supplies collected. The supplies were taken to Mars Hill Volunteer Fire Department in Winston County while disaster relief crews from the Webster Baptist Association were already in the Louisville area providing aid to storm victims.
