At a Fall Festival at Bellefontaine UMC many years ago, me and Pepper dressed up as black-eyed peas. We thought we were funny, but not everyone caught on! HA!
For many, Halloween holds a lot of fun memories.
Whether it was fishing for prizes at the Halloween Carnival at Eupora Elementary School or getting to wear the Superman costume you have wanted each year, but finally found, Halloween was a time of innocent fun and moments that will never be forgotten.
Christie Bailey Colvin of Tomnolan said her favorite Halloween years were those we spent on the Navy base.

Kailen Holmes said she loved “Give Kids The World” and “Magic Kingdom,” and she got to meet “Elisa” and “Anna” — what could be better than that? “Frozen” is her favorite movie!
For one Eupora Elementary School student, it was a trip of a lifetime. Her mom, Kim Holmes, said Kailen was so happy and excited when she found out she was granted a wish to go to Disney World from the Make-A-Wish® Mississippi Foundation. The whole family was invited to take a break from hospitals and doctor visits and day-to-day responsibilities for one week (March 15-21) for this very special trip.
“She had a smile on her face the whole time we were gone and she had so much fun,” Holmes said. “I loved being able to go on the trip with my family and seeing Kailan having so much fun. She was so excited about getting to go to Disney World and seeing everything there. I am thankful that we were able to go because we have gone through so much with Kailan and getting to see her enjoy the trip was so great.”
Kailan, 8, is the daughter of Jonathan and Kim Holmes of Eupora. She has epilepsy and takes medication to try to control her seizures. Kailan has had frequent seizures her entire life, but was only recently diagnosed with epilepsy. Continue reading
