Blaylock named Webster County’s DYW


IMG_9695In preparation for the Distinguished Young Woman 2017 program, Greer Blaylock learned to live the motto: “to be your best self.”

“Through this process, each second of time preparing has shown me what that truly means,” Blaylock said.

On April 2, Blaylock was named Webster County’s DYW 2017, and she will compete for the state title July 14-17 at the Temple Theatre in Meridian. She is the daughter of Stan and Lyn Blaylock of Eupora.

Micah Gray to compete in state DYW program this week


11733464_584164838390507_1984246104_nMicah Gray said it is her “prayer to represent Webster County to the best of her ability and, hopefully, have other girls from Webster County become interested in this wonderful scholarship program.”

Gray currently serves as Webster County’s Distinguished Young Woman (formerly Jr. Miss) and will be at the state competition July 19-25 at the Temple Theatre in Meridian for a week of preparation and preliminaries.

Because Webster County does not host a local DYW program, Gray participated as an “at-large” competitor. Continue reading
