It is that time of year! #OperationChristmasChild Packing Parties are being held in preparation for OCC National Collection Week, set for the third week in November.

At a Packing Party, shoeboxes are filled with special gifts for needy children around the world. Each box also accompanies classes designed to teach children about Jesus and God’s love.

My mom has been a volunteer for Operation Christmas Child through her church since the 90’s. It is a project that is very important to her. The Packing Party at Pine Forest Baptist Church has been a wonderful opportunity, allowing the entire church to be involved in the ministry, instead of just a small group of people working hard.

This year, Pine Forest Baptist, a small church in rural Mississippi, was able to pack 100 shoeboxes with the items donated or purchased through monetary donations. The more shoeboxes that are packed, the more needy children Operation Christmas Child can reach and share the love of Christ.
