“I was so excited when they called my name as the winner!” said Micah Gray, who was named Miss Meridian Community College last week.
Her family and the entire tennis team were on hand Thursday night, Oct. 6, to cheer her on at the McCain Theater on the MCC Campus.
“Having her family and tennis team there to cheer her on, made the night very special for her,” said Micah’s mom, Angela Gray.
“Having the title of Miss Meridian Community College means I will have numerous opportunities to be a representative for my school,” Micah Gray said. “I want to be a positive representative.”
As the winner, Gray received a scholarship and will spend her year representing the College at various campus events.
Gray is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Travis Gray of Eupora. Her maternal grandparents are Clemis Renfrow and the late Dwight Renfrow of Eupora. And her paternal grandparents are Dot Gray and the late Durward Gray of Pelahatchie.
Gray, 18, is a freshman nursing major hoping to be accepted to nursing school next fall. After completing nursing school, she aspires to become a nurse practitioner. She is a member of the MCC Tennis Team, the Baptist Student Union and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
“Micah is a wonderful representative of Meridian Community College, said Patrick Lovette, Campus Life Coordinator for MCC. “We are excited to have her represent our college as Miss MCC 2016-17. She presented herself with elegance and grace during the Miss MCC Pageant.”
