First day of Round two chemo wasn’t bad…maybe we didn’t hear the doctor correctly–we thought it was 2 hours in the chair, but come to find out it was 2 hours per bag of medicine. We got there at 9 a.m., started “pretreats” –which is short-term and long-term anti-nausea medicine and benadryl. Let’s just say, I slept through most of it!! Benadryl knocks me out and I had a “Benedryl hangover” this morning and could barely function!!!! We didn’t start actual “chemo bag #1” until 11:30 and it goes for an hour and a half. Bags #2 & #3 could run together for 2 hours…done with that phase by 3:30 p.m. then they hooked up the infusion bag that I am wearing today and then give back to them tomorrow at 2 p.m. and I am FREE for 15 days!!! Then we will start all over again on Jan. 25. So far, no side effects, just sleepy, but that could be the Benedryl hangover or the influence of Pepper Sisson who forgot to bring his Kindle and snoozed most of the afternoon! We forgot our phone chargers, so the phones died early too, but in our defense, we were told we would be there two hours…you can’t kill a phone in two hours!!!
