Rev. Lindley to speak at Starkville’s National Day of Prayer


Giles LindleyRev. Giles Lindley, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Starkville, will be one of eight speakers at Starkville’s National Day of Prayer observance.

Starkville’s observance of the National Day of Prayer will be at noon, May 1 at the Starkville Sportsplex. The public is invited to attend.

Rev. Lindley has been a frequent speaker at the Starkville observance of the National Day of Prayer. This year, he will speak about the importance of praying for the church and all churches within each community.

“Praying for the church, whether it is your own congregation or the church universal, is vital to the life of the church,” Rev. Lindley said. “Those prayers tap into the power of God. Those prayers also bind the members of the church together. The church cannot exist without prayer.”
